This is a gorgeous and festive gin cocktail using Harmony Spirits’ premium gin, cranberry juice, and a homemade winter spice simple syrup. A super simple recipe and cocktail, it will wow at your holiday gatherings–even your non-gin lovers will love this one!
You’ll want to prep the winter spice simple syrup the day before you plan on making the cocktail so the spices have enough time to give the simple syrup a full-bodied flavor. The good news is, the winter spice simple syrup will keep in your fridge for about four weeks, so you’ll have plenty of time to use it all up!

Equipment
- 12 oz. cocktail glass
- Jigger1
Ingredients
- 1.25 to 1.5 oz Harmony Spirits Gin2
- 3 to 4 oz Cranberry Juice3
- 1 oz Winter Spice Simple Syrup (water, sugar, mulling spice)4
- Ice (to fill glass)
Recipe
- First, you need to make your Winter Spice Simple Syrup ahead of time. In a small saucepan over medium low heat, stir together 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Stir frequently over about 15 minutes, not allowing it to boil, until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid is clear. Remove from heat and add 1-2 tablespoons of mulling spice. You can purchase mulling spice at a local grocery store or online or make your own (use whole spices, not ground). Once the liquid has cooled to room temperature, pour the mixture into a jar, seal, and store in the refrigerator. Allow the mulling spices to flavor the simple syrup over 12-24 hours (or longer). This recipe will yield roughly 12 ounces of simple syrup. When you are ready to use the winter spice simple syrup, simply pour the simple syrup into a new container through a fine mesh strainer to remove the spices. Store in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to four weeks.
- Now that you have your Winter Spice Simple Syrup ready, you’re ready to make the Harmony Legacy!
- Gather your ingredients, jigger, and cocktail glass(es).
- Fill your cocktail glass with ice. The less ice you use will mean more cranberry juice to finish the cocktail.
- Fill the 1.25 or 1.5oz measuring portion of the jigger with Harmony Spirits Gin and pour into the glass over the ice.
- Use your jigger to pour 1 ounce of your Winter Spice Simple Syrup into your glass with the gin.
- Top with Cranberry Juice.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries, an orange slice, and/or a cinnamon stick and serve. See Notes for how to easily scale this recipe for multiple servings.5
Notes
- We recommend a jigger with one side measuring 1.25 oz or 1.5 oz for your spirit and either 0.5 oz or 1 oz on the smaller end.
- Not all spirits are created equal. Using Harmony Spirits Gin ensures a consistent and perfectly curated premium cocktail every time. Not all gins will pair well with all mixers–please keep that in mind if you choose to use a different gin.
- You can use a cranberry juice blend, such as cran-cherry or cran-pomegranate to really punch up the festive taste!
- If you have store-bought simple syrup, you can simply add mulling spice to your simple syrup and let sit for 12-24 hours before straining the spices out and using.
- If you want to batch this cocktail, such as for a larger party so you can serve from a pitcher or punch bowl, simply multiply the recipe’s measurements by the number of servings you want to make. Or, follow the measurements below for a batch that makes 17-20 servings:
- 1- 750ml bottle of Harmony Spirits Gin
- 1- 64 oz bottle of Cranberry Juice
- 17-20 oz Winter Spice Simple Syrup (double the recipe given earlier to make enough simple syrup)
